No caching last week as I was busy do other things and it was bloomin’ cold anyway. This Saturday was meant to see a change in the weather, with temperatures rising and becoming more spring like. So, I decided to head up to Worcestershire, there are a few trails up that way that I’ve not done. I began the day with the Sneachill Ramble, a series of 22 caches over 4 miles taking about 2 hours. The trail started and finished at a lay-by on the A422 where there was parking on both sides of the road. A short walk towards the Nightingale pub (without stopping!) and then we headed out in the countryside.
The trail is virtually flat making the walking very easy going. The cache owner warns of muddy fields but today they really weren’t that bad, just a couple of fields that were ploughed up and muddy towards the end of the walk. The CO also warns of dog unfriendly stiles but Pip seemed to cope well with them all, there was one near the end that I thought that I was going to have to lift her over but she hopped up on the step and was soon over it.
We started our walk fairly early in the morning so there wasn’t much sun in the sky but about half way around it put in an appearance and was actually quite warm by the time that we finished the walk. Along the way the trail passes the back garden of Spetchley Hall, an imposing Georgian manor.
Collect all the clues on the way around and you can find a bonus cache at the end. There is also a nice little multi cache at number 4 which is a little bit unusual. A huge amount of effort has been put in to this series by the CO, I awarded 4 of the caches favorite points, that’s a lot for me.
