Trip Report – Foxx Trotting

Foxx Trotting is intended as a drive by series for rainy days. Set just outside Bradford-on-Avon in Wiltshire, it consists of 18 caches on a 12 mile route which I completed in a couple of hours last Saturday morning.

A Welcoming sign!

All the caches are placed at lay-bys or places you can pull in and stop safely. From number 2 onwards the roads were very quiet and I hardly saw any other cars. The route began at a very busy cross road, which due to current road works is the only lay by that was inaccessible. The circular route took me through Wooley Green, then Bradford Leigh and  Great Chalfield where there was an impressive manor house that open to the public from April through to October and is owned by the National Trust.

The route then continued through South Wraxall, Monkton Farleigh and finally Lower Wraxall.  Although the cache owner has not set any attributes it worth saying that this circuit would make and enjoyable bike ride and if you fancied a long walk, that would be possible too as the roads seemed quite safe.
